During the enrollment process, Cielo negotiates a fee or a charge with the merchant, and establishes a time period for crediting the funds from Visa card sales following the initial card transaction. Then, Cielo registers the merchant as a member of the Cielo network, allowing them to accept Visa cards as payment. Afterwards, the merchant receives an affiliation kit. A service representative will install the electronic terminal and supply the merchant with three rolls of POS paper: one which is installed in the terminal and two replacements—these rolls should be kept in a cool, well-ventilated place in order to preserve their integrity.
In addition, the merchant will also receive some Visa point-of-sale signage, such as decals to let customers know that the business accepts Visa products. This signage is extremely important since many of our cardholders will decide not to make a purchase once they realize that a certain merchant does not take Visa cards. So, adequate use of our signage and logos is crucial for business since it creates a huge opportunity for increased profit.
